Razorpay on WhatsApp: Send Payment Links and Check If They Were Paid

Last updated: October 2026

InboxWA's no-code flow builder has two Razorpay steps: create a payment link, and check whether it has been paid. Connect your Razorpay account, drop them into a flow, and collect payment inside the conversation.

What are the two Razorpay steps?

Flow stepWhat it doesOutputs
Payment LinkCreates a Razorpay Payment Link from the amount and description you set, then stores the link ID and the short URL in flow variables.success, error
Check Payment StatusLooks up the link (or a payment ID) and tells the flow whether it is paid.paid, pending, failed, error

What do you configure on the Payment Link step?

  • Amount (required), in the smallest currency unit. For rupees that means paise, so ₹500 is entered as 50000.
  • Currency, which defaults to INR.
  • Description (required), shown to the customer on the payment page.
  • Customer name and phone (optional) and an expiry in minutes (optional).

On success, the flow has the link URL available to put into the next message, for example a text that says the order is held and shows the link. On error, the flow can take a different branch, such as asking the customer to try again or passing to a person.

How would you use it?

  • Pay-before-ship for COD risk. Offer a pay-online link to customers who would otherwise pay on delivery. See the COD verification flow, which includes a pay-online option.
  • Booking deposits. Clinics, salons and coaching centres can collect a small deposit when a slot is booked, then branch on paid or pending. See clinics and salons.
  • Fee and invoice reminders. Send a link with the reminder so the customer can pay straight away.

Limits to know

  • You need your own Razorpay account connected. The steps create links in your Razorpay account, and payments settle there under Razorpay's terms and fees.
  • It is a flow step, not a storefront. InboxWA creates and checks links; it does not replace your checkout or accounting.
  • Check status when you need it. The flow checks a link when the Check Payment Status step runs, so place it after a sensible wait or on the customer's next message.
  • This page describes what the integration does today, including its limits. If you need something it does not do, our custom integration service scopes it as a project.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send Razorpay payment links on WhatsApp?

Yes. Add the Payment Link step to a flow, set the amount and description, and use the link URL it produces in the next message. You need your Razorpay account connected.

How do I know if the customer has paid?

Use the Check Payment Status step. It reports paid, pending, failed or error so your flow can branch, for example sending a receipt when paid and a reminder when pending.

What unit is the amount in?

The smallest currency unit. For rupees, enter paise: 50000 means ₹500.

Does InboxWA charge a fee on payments?

The payment itself is processed by Razorpay under your own Razorpay account and terms. Check the pricing page for InboxWA's platform plans.
