What does the HubSpot integration do?
- Connect with an access token. You add a HubSpot private app access token (and optionally a client secret for webhook verification) on the Integrations page. A test action checks the connection by reading your contact count.
- Push a contact to HubSpot. InboxWA can send a contact with email, first name, last name, phone and company. It first searches HubSpot for a contact with the same email: if one exists it is updated, otherwise a new one is created. Email is required for this step.
- Receive HubSpot webhook events. InboxWA exposes a webhook endpoint that verifies HubSpot's v3 signature (HMAC-SHA256 over method, URI, body and timestamp) and logs each event it receives against your account.
What it does not do today
Being clear about this is more useful than a long feature list:
- Incoming HubSpot events are recorded for audit and debugging. They do not yet trigger WhatsApp automations on their own.
- The sync described above is for contacts. It does not sync deals or push full conversation transcripts to HubSpot timelines.
- Contacts are pushed with a call you or your workflow makes; it is not a continuous two-way mirror of your whole HubSpot database.
If you need deeper sync, such as deals, pipeline stages or continuous two-way updates, that is what the custom integration service is for. It scopes the exact objects and rules with you.
Why keep WhatsApp separate from your CRM?
Your CRM is where deal shape lives. WhatsApp is where the conversation actually happens, including replies from phones, quick questions and confirmations. InboxWA is the WhatsApp execution layer: a shared team inbox, AI replies, broadcasts and flows, with a REST API and webhooks to hand data to the system of record. For the thinking behind this, read why your WhatsApp inbox is the new CRM.
How do you set it up?
- In HubSpot, create a private app and copy its access token.
- In InboxWA, open Integrations, choose HubSpot, paste the token and save.
- Press the test action. You should see your HubSpot contact count come back.
- Push a test contact with an email address and check it appears in HubSpot.
This page describes what the integration does today, including its limits. If you need something it does not do, our custom integration service scopes it as a project.
Frequently asked questions
Does InboxWA integrate with HubSpot?
Yes. You connect with a HubSpot access token, and InboxWA can push contacts to HubSpot, creating or updating them by email address. It also has a signature-verified webhook endpoint that logs HubSpot events.
Does the HubSpot integration sync deals?
Not today. The built-in integration pushes contacts. Deal sync, pipeline stages or full two-way sync can be scoped as a custom integration project.
Do HubSpot events trigger WhatsApp messages?
Not yet. Incoming HubSpot events are verified and logged, but they do not start automations by themselves. You can still start workflows from your own systems through InboxWA's REST API and webhooks.
Why is an email address required?
InboxWA matches HubSpot contacts by email to avoid duplicates, updating an existing contact when the email already exists and creating one when it does not.
