What is the WHMCS connector?
It is an addon module for WHMCS that you install on your own server. When something happens in WHMCS, a hook records it, and a background sender forwards it to InboxWA over HTTPS. It requires WHMCS 8.10 or later (or 9.x) and PHP 8.1 or later.
It only reads from WHMCS. It never creates, suspends, terminates, bills or edits anything, and it sends data nowhere except the one InboxWA endpoint you configure. A privacy filter is applied before anything leaves your server.
Which WHMCS events does it forward?
| Group | Events |
|---|---|
| Tickets | opened, assigned, admin replied, customer replied, status changed, department changed, priority changed, closed, acknowledged |
| Orders, invoices, services | order placed, invoice created, invoice paid, service activated, service suspended, service terminated, cancellation requested |
| Snapshots | periodic metrics and an expiry snapshot |
| Sync | departments, staff, and contacts (including opt-outs) |

What happens on the InboxWA side?
- SLA alerts in Microsoft Teams. Ticket events drive alerts in a Teams channel, with a link to an Acknowledge page hosted inside your WHMCS admin.
- WhatsApp notifications. Events can trigger WhatsApp messages to customers, for example for invoices, tickets and renewals, through InboxWA's flow builder, which also has a WHMCS ticket lookup step and a Notify Teams step.
How is it kept reliable and secure?
- Signed requests. Each batch (up to 50 events) is signed with HMAC-SHA256 over the timestamp and body, and requests with a stale timestamp are rejected.
- Nothing is lost on failure. Hooks write one row to a local outbox and never make a network call during a customer's checkout or ticket reply. If InboxWA is unreachable the sender retries with growing waits (30 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours) before marking an event dead, and stops and raises a banner if credentials are rejected.
- A test connection tab in the module checks the link before you go live.
What are the limits?
- It is installed per WHMCS and configured per customer; it is not a one-click marketplace app.
- It reads; it does not change anything in WHMCS from WhatsApp or Teams.
- WhatsApp messages still need Meta-approved templates outside the 24-hour window and customer opt-in.
- This page describes what the integration does today, including its limits. If you need something it does not do, our custom integration service scopes it as a project.
Frequently asked questions
Does InboxWA integrate with WHMCS?
Yes. An addon module on your WHMCS server forwards ticket, order, invoice and service events to your InboxWA workspace, where they power SLA alerts in Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp notifications.
Can the connector change anything in WHMCS?
No. It only reads from WHMCS. It never creates, suspends, terminates, bills or edits anything.
What WHMCS version do I need?
WHMCS 8.10 or later, or 9.x, with PHP 8.1 or later.
What if InboxWA is unreachable?
Events are held in a local outbox and retried with growing waits. If the credentials are rejected the sender stops and shows a banner, so nothing is silently lost.
Can I get alerts in Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Ticket events drive SLA alerts in a Teams channel with an Acknowledge link.
