What each charges per message in India

What changed on 1 October 2026

Both AiSensy and Interakt now state on their pricing pages that each number gets 1,000 free service messages a month, then pays per message, and Wati's support documentation describes the same rule. AiSensy adds that utility messages sent inside the 24-hour window are chargeable too. We read Meta's developer pricing pages on 11 October 2026 and they had not yet reflected the change, so confirm with Meta before budgeting. Details: is the WhatsApp Business API free?

Which one fits which business?

  • AiSensy: the lowest entry cost, with a free plan and cheap plans, and strong on broadcast-led campaigns. Chatbots and AI are priced as add-ons, so check the total with them included. See the AiSensy alternative page.
  • Interakt: built for Indian D2C and small businesses and the one here that also automates Instagram. Growth starts around ₹2,799 a month and the no-markup message pricing is an Enterprise feature. See the Interakt alternative page.
  • Wati: a team-inbox-led platform with tiered AI credits and integrations, billed partly in dollars for extra users. Its page did not show base monthly prices in what we read, so get a quote. See the Wati alternative page.
  • InboxWA: a flat platform fee in rupees (₹999, ₹2,499 or ₹4,999 a month ex-GST) with the AI included from the cheapest plan, and Meta's per-message fee passed through with no markup. The trade-offs are that we focus on WhatsApp rather than Instagram, and the API and webhooks start on the Growth plan. See the InboxWA vs Wati and InboxWA vs AiSensy pages.

How to compare for your own volume

  1. Count your monthly marketing, utility and service messages.
  2. Multiply by each platform's per-message figure, add GST, then add the platform fee and any AI add-on.
  3. Compare the total, not the plan price. Our pricing calculator does the arithmetic.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper, AiSensy, Interakt or Wati?

On entry price AiSensy is lowest, with a free plan and plans from ₹1,350 a month, while Interakt's paid plans start at ₹2,799 and Wati's base prices were not shown on its page. The real cost depends on your message volume, AI add-ons and seats, so compare the total monthly bill.

Do AiSensy, Interakt and Wati add a markup to Meta's fees?

Their pages show their own per-message prices, for example ₹1.09 per marketing message at AiSensy and ₹0.970 at Interakt, while Wati does not state rates on its page. Compare each figure to Meta's current India rate card to see the difference. Interakt lists no template markups as an Enterprise feature.

What changed for service messages on 1 October 2026?

AiSensy and Interakt state that each number gets 1,000 free service messages a month, with per-message charges after that, and Wati's support documentation describes the same. Meta's own developer pages we read had not yet shown the change, so confirm with Meta.

Is this comparison independent?

No. It is published by InboxWA, a competitor. Every figure is read from the vendors' own pricing pages on the date shown, and where a figure was not available we say so.
