# Search contacts

`GET /api/contacts/search`  (operationId: `searchContacts`, group: Contacts)

Finds contacts by name, phone number or tag. Returns up to 50. An empty q returns an empty list.

Part of the full API, which is included in the Scale plan. Any one of these scopes is enough: `contacts`, `contacts:read`.

**Parameters**

**Response 200**: Matches.
